Ministry of Municipalities and Housing: More than 278,000 volunteer hours with the participation of 23,000 volunteers during Ramadan

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing revealed that more than 278,627 volunteer hours were carried out during the holy month of Ramadan, with the participation of more than 23,000 male and female volunteers within the volunteer work initiatives in the municipal and housing sector, which were implemented in various regions of the Kingdom in support of the sector’s work and services.

The volunteer initiatives included carrying out more than 11,000 inspection tours, removing more than 6,000 random stickers from public facilities, in addition to improving more than 400 meters of roads and sidewalks, and contributing to the improvement of parks and public facilities in a way that enhances the urban landscape and improves the quality of the urban environment in cities.

The initiatives also included the implementation of awareness and community programs that benefited more than 62,000 people, focusing on promoting a culture of preserving public facilities and establishing civilized behavior, in addition to distributing more than 20,000 breakfast meals during the holy month.

The ministry explained that the initiatives also contributed to achieving a return on financial contributions exceeding 17,223,500 riyals, in an indicator that reflects the level of community interaction with voluntary initiatives and their role in supporting the efforts of the municipal and housing sector.

The ministry affirmed that this voluntary effort embodies the integration of efforts between government agencies and the community, and reflects the growing awareness of the importance of voluntary work in supporting municipal services and enhancing the quality of life in cities.
