Idle Lands Program fees subject to specific scope and standards

The Idle Lands Program announced that the second phase of fees is implemented according to specific criteria, in compliance with the findings of population and economic studies conducted by the program in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

In a press release issued today, the program’s criteria for the scopes subject to fees were announced to include total demand for housing, average real estate prices, average household income, home ownership percentage, development projects, population density distribution plan, and availability of developed and unused land stock in the relevant city’s neighborhoods.

The program stressed that digital-solution-supported databases, as well as the continual cooperation with the concerned authority, help in discovering unregistered white lands, which limits evasion from land registration. Optimizing modern technologies in discovering unregistered lands contributed significantly to the application of fees and issuance of invoices to taxpayers, it noted, adding that beneficiaries (including taxpayers or those who are about to purchase land plots) can inquire about any outstanding fee on any white land plot, by deed number only on the Idle Lands Program website https://idlelands.housing.gov.sa/ar/deed-fees.

The first phase of the Idle Land fees focuses on undeveloped land plots with an area of 10,000 sqm or more; the second phase includes developed land plots with an area of 10,000 sqm or more, and those developed for one owner with an area of 10,000 sqm or more in one scheme; the third phase concerns the developed land plots with an area of 5,000 sqm or more, and those developed for one owner with an area of 10,000 sqm or more in a single city.
