The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing held the first meeting of the Sectoral Skills Council for the Construction and Real Estate Activities Sector in its second session, chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Human Capabilities Development in the Municipal and Housing Sector, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Dubaikhi, with the participation of representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and educational and training institutions, in order to enhance the alignment of national skills with the needs of the construction and real estate activities sector and the current and future labor market requirements .
The meeting reviewed the role of the Sectoral Skills Councils, as one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, aimed at building an integrated national system for skills development, by identifying the skills needs of the economic sectors, anticipating future skills, and enhancing the alignment of education and training outputs with labor market requirements, in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of human capital and supporting the competitiveness of vital sectors .
The council discussed its priorities for the next phase, which include identifying the skills and indicators related to the construction and real estate sector, monitoring skills gaps, and launching quality initiatives and programs that contribute to raising the readiness of national cadres, enhancing employment opportunities, and increasing productivity in the sector.
The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening integration between government agencies, the private sector, and the education and training system to ensure that education and training outputs are aligned with the needs of the sector, and to enable national talents to acquire the specialized and professional skills that support sustainable growth and keep pace with the rapid transformations in the labor market.
The convening of the council comes as an extension of the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in developing human capabilities in the construction and real estate activities sector, and supporting the development of specialized skills, which contributes to raising the efficiency of national cadres and enhancing their participation in the labor market, and achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Human Capability Development Program.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the importance of activating quality partnerships between relevant parties and enhancing institutional integration to develop human capital, in order to meet the needs of the construction and real estate sector for qualified national talent, and to raise its competitiveness and the sustainability of its growth.
