His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, attended the 24th Gulf Engineering Forum, which is being hosted by the State of Qatar from March 7 to 9, under the title "Environmental Engineering and Sustainability," and which was opened today under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Qatar, Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani.
The forum, organized by the Ministry of Municipality, the Gulf Engineering Union and the Qatar Society of Engineers, includes 5 discussion sessions with the participation of a select group of speakers from Qatar and the Gulf countries. 25 working papers were selected to be presented during the forum, covering four main themes: (Technology and Smart Cities, Sustainable Building Materials, Efficient Management of Buildings and Cities, and Waste Management and Recycling).
The forum witnessed the honoring of His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, in the “individual category”, as part of honoring a number of pioneers of engineering work from more than one Gulf country.
His Excellency also participated in the opening of the engineering exhibition accompanying the forum, which specializes in environment and sustainability, with the participation of 20 participants from governmental, semi-governmental and private sector entities from the Gulf countries, in order to present the most prominent ideas, projects and engineering services in the field of environment and sustainability.
