The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing called on owners of vacant land to maintain the cleanliness of their land and to comply with municipal requirements and regulations, in order to improve the urban landscape and reduce the manifestations of visual pollution in cities.

The ministry explained that it has begun implementing a comprehensive awareness phase within and outside urban areas in various cities of the Kingdom, with the aim of raising the level of compliance among owners, in preparation for strengthening field monitoring after the end of the deadline set on 4/15/1448 AH .

She explained that these efforts are part of initiatives to improve the urban landscape, and include addressing aspects of the illegal use of vacant land, such as exploiting it for irregular commercial purposes, or turning it into sites for collecting construction waste and excavation debris, or using it as parking for vehicles and machinery in illegal ways, due to the negative effects this has on the urban environment and quality of life.

The ministry confirmed that the secretariats and municipalities will begin intensifying field monitoring and follow-up work after the end of the awareness period, with the aim of raising the level of compliance and reducing violations, which will enhance the quality of the urban environment and improve the attractiveness of cities.
