The Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing inspects a number of development projects in the Jazan region.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, inspected a number of development projects implemented by the Jazan Region Municipality and Housing Affairs, with the aim of reviewing the progress of work on projects that serve the residents and reviewing the opportunities that are made available to the private sector, and the continuous efforts of the municipality and sub-municipalities in addressing visual pollution and improving the urban landscape. This was during his visit to the region, accompanied by the Mayor of Jazan, Naif bin Manahi bin Saeedan, and a number of leaders of the Ministry and the Municipality. During the visit, His Excellency directed that the best services be provided to citizens and residents in the region, and stressed the need to continue implementing quality projects in the Jazan region to raise the quality of life in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by advancing in the indicators of the most livable cities.

His Excellency inspected several development projects, including the Prince Sultan Cultural Center, which was designed in a unique and distinctive way to form an architectural masterpiece with its high-level facilities and services that will meet the needs of the region’s residents and visitors, to hold cultural and celebratory events and other events that the region witnesses. During his visit to the center, His Excellency met with the leaders of the Secretariat and the heads of the region’s municipalities.

He also inspected the new Jazan Municipality building and the waterfront on the northern Corniche in Jazan City, and reviewed the services provided to citizens, residents and visitors to the waterfront, which is one of the largest waterfronts in the Kingdom, with an area of one million square meters and an average depth of 00 meters. It includes recreational areas, pedestrian walkways, a promenade adjacent to the sea, green spaces, cafes, playgrounds, and aesthetic artistic forms, as well as the cultural street that extends over a distance of 450 meters and contains shaded paths with decorative forms and booths for creators and talented people, seating areas for visitors, aesthetic sculptures and places to practice events that promote cultural values and are concerned with the youth age group.

His Excellency concluded his inspection visits today with a tour of the King Abdullah Residential Suburb to follow up on the progress of work there. The project is a fully serviced residential suburb with infrastructure north of Jazan city, providing about 40,000 housing units allocated to Saudi families in the region. The suburb is located north of Jazan city on the coastal strip next to the new Jazan airport, where the main and secondary streets have been opened and equipped and some of them have been paved as a first phase. The suburb also includes a 22 km long waterfront, a financial and business center, islands, resorts, gardens, squares, an aquatic museum, various investments, a service tunnel and an integrated public transport network that forms the backbone of the project to serve all the suburb's facilities.

His Excellency then met with the Chairman of the Jazan Chamber of Commerce and businessmen of the region, within the framework of cooperation and integration between the public and private sectors towards achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by enabling investors to access suitable opportunities in cooperation with government agencies.
