The Minister of Municipalities and Housing reviews the efforts of the Holy Capital Municipality to serve pilgrims and visitors during the holy month of Ramadan.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, today inspected the operational and service work system implemented by the Holy Capital Municipality during the holy month of Ramadan, as part of monitoring readiness and raising performance efficiency to serve the guests of God.

Al-Haqil began the tour with a meeting with His Excellency the Mayor of the Holy City of Makkah, Engineer Musaed bin Abdulaziz Al-Dawood, and the leaders of the municipality, during which the operational plan for the Ramadan season was reviewed, including intensive programs for cleaning and environmental sanitation work, strengthening health control over food establishments, raising the level of readiness of emergency and maintenance teams, in addition to initiatives to improve the urban landscape in the central area and high-density sites.

His Excellency was briefed on the monitoring and follow-up mechanisms and the measurement of performance indicators through digital platforms, and discussed with the field leaders ways to enhance the integration of efforts between the relevant departments, in order to ensure the smooth flow of work and the sustainability of providing services with high efficiency around the clock.

The tour included a number of vital projects and sites related to the movement of those visiting the Grand Mosque, including the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road project, Umm Al Qura Road, and the Crown Prince’s plans, where His Excellency was briefed on the latest implementation developments and completion rates, stressing the importance of aligning development projects with the operational plans for the season, in order to enhance the flow of traffic and improve the quality of services.

His Excellency also met with a number of investors, stressing the importance of expanding the scope of partnership with the private sector and stimulating quality investments that support the municipal services system and urban development in the Holy Capital.

The Minister of Municipalities and Housing visited the site of the “Markaz Al Balad Al Amin” initiative in its third edition, and was briefed on its developmental contents that promote integration between different sectors.

This tour comes as part of the ongoing monitoring of the efforts of the Holy Capital Municipality during peak operational seasons, which enhances the quality of services provided to pilgrims and visitors, and strengthens the efficiency of municipal performance in Makkah during the holy month of Ramadan.
