The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has adopted the technical and regulatory requirements for shops selling liquefied petroleum gas cylinders, as part of its ongoing efforts to develop the business environment, enhance compliance, and achieve the highest safety standards, in addition to supporting the improvement of the urban landscape in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. .

The ministry stated that the requirements include standards related to activity classification, licensing requirements, location, and area, in addition to technical and architectural aspects. The regulations also included specifying minimum site areas, requirements for commercial signage, providing dedicated lanes for loading and unloading cylinders, and applying the Saudi Building Code with regard to building materials, ventilation, and fire prevention. .

She pointed out the necessity of obtaining regulatory approvals from the relevant authorities and submitting a valid commercial registration that includes the activity to be licensed, explaining that the classification includes licensed retail stores, vending machines, and cylinder filling devices intended for travel. .

She explained that the requirements also include adherence to the urban identity, preventing encroachment on sidewalks or the use of public sidewalks for business activities, in addition to obligating establishments to have surveillance cameras, internal identification signs, and electronic payment stickers, as well as maintaining periodic maintenance and general cleanliness. .

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing called on investors to comply with all approved requirements and rectify the status of their facilities, stressing that the municipalities and secretariats will undertake monitoring and inspection tasks within their geographical jurisdiction, imposing legal penalties on violators and following up on the implementation of regulatory requirements on all facilities subject to these requirements. .
