Today, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, participated in the government press conference held in Riyadh, reviewing the transformation journey in the non-profit third sector within the municipalities and housing system, and the developmental impact achieved that enhanced family stability and quality of life, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

His Excellency noted the generous donation of one billion riyals from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - to the Jood Housing Platform, stressing that this initiative went beyond being a financial support, to form a clear message that investing in people and family stability represents a firmly established national priority.

He explained that the transformation in the non-profit sector was not merely a numerical expansion, but a shift from scattered initiatives to an integrated system that leads the impact in housing, urban development, and community services with a human dimension, as the number of non-profit organizations rose to 313 by the end of 2025, with more than 345,000 volunteers working within them, in an effective partnership with the governmental and private sectors.

He pointed out that the system has had a direct impact, represented in the benefit of more than 106,000 beneficiaries of housing support, the protection of more than 200,000 cases from losing their homes through the support program for those in financial distress, community contributions exceeding 5 billion riyals, the implementation of more than 300 development initiatives and the provision of more than 1,000 services.

The Minister of Municipalities and Housing explained that the partnership with the third sector contributed to improving the urban landscape, as 33 parks were targeted for 2025, and 71 actual parks were achieved, reflecting a doubling of the community impact.

Regarding developmental housing, His Excellency stressed that the national model is based on empowering families according to their capabilities through usufruct pathways, usufruct ending with ownership, and direct ownership, in a way that enhances independence and stability.

He also reviewed the development witnessed by the Jood Housing platform, which started by serving 100 families, and today serves more than 50,000 families in various regions of the Kingdom, with the support of more than 4.5 million donors since 2021, indicating the growing confidence of society in governance and transparency.

His Excellency touched on the launch of the Good Deeds Mourning Platform as a unified national system, operating through 72 non-profit organizations, with 2,901 cemeteries and 645 mortuaries included in a national database, providing a clear and easy path for the families of the deceased in the most difficult moments.

In the area of digital transformation, he explained that the technical link with the relevant authorities contributed to reducing the time for processing default cases from one month to 19 days, and accelerating the ownership journey from 14 days to two days through electronic signature, in addition to implementing more than 150,000 digital transactions during 2025, and studying the needs of more than 400,000 beneficiaries.

His Excellency concluded by emphasizing that what has been achieved embodies the support of the wise leadership and the integration of partnerships, noting the launch of the “Generosity is from us and within us” campaign as the month of Ramadan approaches, to enhance community participation in the journey of giving, and to consolidate the values of solidarity upon which this nation is based.
