His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Budair, inspected a number of housing projects in Jeddah Governorate. His Excellency reviewed the progress of development work in them as part of the efforts to increase the supply of residential real estate in partnership with real estate developers from the private sector, and to provide housing units for the most needy families benefiting from the developmental housing program in partnership with development associations in the Makkah region, noting that the governorate will witness during the current year 2022 an increase in the number of units for beneficiaries of “Sakani” and “developmental housing”.

This came on the sidelines of his visit to the residential suburb projects developed by the National Housing Company ( NHC ) for beneficiaries of the “Sakani” and “Developmental Housing” programs from Saudi families in the governorate, as an extension of the efforts made to diversify housing options and solutions at reasonable prices in order to achieve the objectives of the Housing Program – one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 – to reach a housing ownership rate of 70% by the year 2030.

His Excellency was briefed on the progress of work in developing residential plans, and the level of achievement in the suburbs, which exceeded 70%. His Excellency stressed the need to implement the projects within the scheduled timeframes for their delivery to Saudi families without delay, in light of the continuous support that the housing sector enjoys from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Crown Prince - may God protect them - which has contributed to diversifying housing options and services through the "Sakani" platform within easy electronic procedures, and raising the ownership rate from 47% to 60% within 4 years.
