The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing raises its readiness for the last ten days with 18,000 staff and 6,000 vehicles to serve visitors and pilgrims.

The municipalities of the Holy Capital and Medina have mobilized more than 18,000 human resources and nearly 6,000 operational vehicles and equipment as part of intensive operational plans through which the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing raised the level of municipal readiness with the entry of the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of providing the best services to pilgrims and visitors and enabling them to perform their worship in a safe and organized atmosphere.

The ministry explained that the operational plans include raising the efficiency of facility cleanliness and environmental sanitation, enhancing the efficiency of infrastructure and municipal services, in addition to intensifying field monitoring of commercial and food establishments to ensure the quality of services provided during this period, which witnesses a high density of the number of people coming to Makkah and Madinah.

She explained that the Holy Capital Municipality has mobilized more than 13,000 human resources working around the clock to support cleaning and operational work in the central area and sites surrounding the Grand Mosque, in addition to operating an integrated system of specialized machinery and equipment that contributes to maintaining the cleanliness of high-density sites and facilitating the movement of visitors and pilgrims.

The Secretariat also prepared five parking sites with a capacity of more than 42,000 vehicles within an integrated traffic management system that contributes to facilitating access to the Grand Mosque and reducing congestion in the central area.

In Medina, the municipality raised its operational readiness through a comprehensive action plan that includes raising the efficiency of facility cleanliness and environmental sanitation, monitoring the safety of the infrastructure, and intensifying inspection tours of commercial and food establishments to ensure their compliance with health requirements and the safety of the products on display, in addition to carrying out field tours to combat commercial fraud and control street vendors.

The Secretariat also supported its field work with more than 5,000 human resources and more than 1,230 operational vehicles, in addition to activating a number of electronic platforms that contribute to raising the efficiency of monitoring reports and improving the speed of response to municipal services.

The ministry affirmed that these efforts are part of the integrated work system between government agencies to serve the guests of God and to prepare the holy cities with the highest levels of operational readiness during the last ten days of Ramadan.
