His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, visited the Northern Borders region today, where he met with His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud, the region’s governor, and they discussed ways to enhance municipal work, develop services, and support development and investment projects, in order to improve the quality of life and achieve sustainable development.
The visit witnessed the inauguration of maintenance and operation projects worth more than 400 million riyals, in addition to launching the real estate registration works in the region, in a step aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the real estate sector and raising its reliability.
His Excellency reviewed the performance of the Northern Borders Region Municipality in providing municipal services, and met with the municipality’s leaders to discuss the most prominent current achievements and future plans, stressing the importance of improving the quality of services provided to citizens and residents. He also met with a number of citizens, investors and businessmen, and listened to their comments and needs, confirming the ministry’s approach of direct communication and linking planning with the field.
The visit included a presentation on key future investment projects and municipal achievements in the region, recognition of donors to the previous edition of the "Jood Al-Manatiq" campaign, and the signing of several development agreements with various entities to enhance service quality and project implementation efficiency. His Excellency also reviewed the progress of work on the "City View" platform and held a meeting with the Secretariat's leadership to discuss projects and operational plans.
The visit concluded with a field tour that included a visit to the business center; the National Guard land grants; a visit to the Ghosoun Arar housing project and the Ghosoun Arar park, to see the reality of the projects on the ground.
The Minister of Municipalities and Housing affirmed that the Northern Borders region witnessed, during the past five years (2021-2025), the injection of investments exceeding 2.5 billion riyals in service, municipal and housing projects, which contributed to raising the quality of life and promoting sustainable development, stressing the importance of partnership with the private sector to maximize the economic and social impact in the region.
His Excellency pointed out that these projects represent an integrated journey to advance the Northern Borders region, enhance its position as a strategic northern gateway to the Kingdom, and increase its attractiveness to residents, visitors and investors.
