The Minister of Municipalities and Housing holds bilateral meetings in Baku to discuss strengthening cooperation in urban development and sustainable housing.

His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 13th World Urban Forum in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, in order to enhance international cooperation and exchange experiences in the fields of urban development and sustainable housing.

Al-Haqil met with Her Excellency Randa Al-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and they discussed enhancing cooperation in the fields of housing and urban development, expanding partnerships in housing projects and empowering the private sector, in order to achieve the aspirations of both countries towards more vibrant and higher-quality cities.

His Excellency also met with His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Murat Kurum. During the meeting, they discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the areas of urban development, housing and smart cities, and to expand partnerships in a way that supports the common interests of the two countries.

In the context of strengthening Gulf integration in the housing sector, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing met with Her Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Professor Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, where the meeting addressed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of housing, exchange of experiences, and support for aligning development visions between the two countries.

His Excellency also met with the Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) , Ms. Anna Claudia Rosbach, where the two sides reviewed the Kingdom’s achievements in urban and housing development, and discussed opportunities to enhance cooperation in the areas of sustainable cities and urban innovation, placing human beings at the heart of development.

These meetings are part of the Kingdom's delegation's participation in the 13th World Urban Forum, through which the Kingdom will showcase its most prominent experiences and initiatives in sustainable urban development and enhancing the quality of life .
