Prince Saud bin Talal receives the Regional Director of the United Nations Development Programme

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing for Customer Experience and Customer Services and General Supervisor of the General Department of Institutional Partnerships and International Cooperation, received at the Ministry’s headquarters today, the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Office of the United Nations Development Programme for Arab States, Dr. Khalida Bouzar, and her accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed Dr. Bouzar, stressing the great cooperation between the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing and the United Nations Development Programme in various fields. The two sides also discussed a number of development projects, and emphasized the importance of the Ministry’s role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and other urban goals to make cities and human settlements safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable.

The two sides also discussed ways of future cooperation between the Ministry and the programs and projects that the program can offer, including capacity building in planning and design, creating measurement matrices for spatial planning, the visual appeal program, unifying the operating model for planning across municipalities, in addition to providing support to improve the housing sector, and enabling Saudi families to own or benefit from housing according to their needs and financial capabilities.

The meeting was attended by the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Adam Boloko, the Deputy Resident Representative, Dr. Mohamed Madou, and a number of officials from the Ministry.
