The Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction announced the selection of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as the chair of the Council’s Executive Office for the years (2026-2027), during the meeting of the Council’s forty-second session held in the Qatari capital, Doha.

During the meeting, the Council adopted the slogan for Arab Housing Day 2026, proposed by the Kingdom, under the title: “Community Resilience: Building Adaptable Societies,” which focuses on promoting the concepts of urban sustainability and raising the readiness of Arab cities to face future challenges.

This selection comes within the framework of the Council’s orientation towards strengthening Arab coordination in the fields of housing and construction, and benefiting from the diverse experiences of member states in developing housing policies and urban planning, in order to support the achievement of balanced urban development in the Arab region.

Through its chairmanship of the Executive Office, the Kingdom will contribute to supporting joint Arab cooperation initiatives, and enhancing the exchange of technical and organizational expertise in the fields of urban planning, and the development of real estate systems and legislation, in order to help Arab countries develop more efficient and sustainable residential environments.

The adoption of the slogan for Arab Housing Day 2026 also reflects a shared Arab orientation towards building societies capable of adapting to economic, environmental and social changes, and providing suitable housing that contributes to improving the quality of life in Arab cities.

It is worth noting that the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction operates under the umbrella of the League of Arab States, and aims to coordinate policies and exchange studies and experiences among member states, in order to contribute to the development of the housing and reconstruction sector and to meet the needs of Arab societies.
