The Housing Supply and Real Estate Development Stimulation Agency, represented by the Modern Building Initiative in cooperation with the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, announced that it is overseeing the signing of contracts to finance 4 factories for modern building methods.
The signing of the contracts comes within the framework of the strategic direction of the Modern Building Initiative, which aims to stimulate factories producing modern building methods, and to establish and adopt more factories to contribute effectively to raising the percentage of housing supply in the real estate market to achieve the goals of the Housing Program - one of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 programs - by providing sustainable housing products with high energy efficiency and at an affordable price.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry for Stimulating Housing Supply and Real Estate Development, Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil, confirmed that signing the agreement contributes to stimulating and increasing the adoption of modern building methods in general and in the building and construction sector in particular, explaining that the initiative seeks, in partnership with the private sector, to continue stimulating the real estate development sector to adopt and use modern building methods in future projects, as modern building methods are considered an essential element to overcome the challenges of the sector and achieve the targets in a shorter period, with higher quality and competitive cost.
It is worth mentioning that the Modern Building Initiative has made continuous efforts over the past years to localize this industry in the Kingdom, where support was provided to more than 22 Saudi factories and the production capacity of the factories was increased to reach more than 40,000 units annually, and the percentage of use of modern building methods was raised to 58% within the housing system, and specialized training courses were prepared and launched for modern building methods and the training of more than 400 young Saudis, in addition to localizing and implementing qualitative experiments for fourth-generation technologies in modern building.
